All Good parents need to know what's involved.

Flea collar
Puppies are too young to have flea collars, make sure your puppy is at least 10 weeks old before you think about purchasing one of these. Read the instructions carefully and make sure it is suitable for the age of your dog. These collars contain a poisonous chemical and should be allowed to air out of the bag for a few hours prior to fitting one. If you do use one, do not use additional sprays. If you see any skin problems near the collar, remove it immediately and seek your vet's advice.
Bed
Every dog should have its own bed, When the puppy is very young you might consider a cardboard box to start with. It has been brought to my attention that some cardboard boxes might be made using a glue that can be toxic to dogs. Always check that the cardboard box is safe to use, Any cardboard box designed to hold packet food will be safe to use.
Collar
A very young puppy should have a soft collar for short periods every day. Always remove the collar when the puppy is un-supervised as it could easily get strangled by the collar if it gets caught on a cupboard handle. A lot of people are now using the harness, Both Bobby and Scamp wear harnesses. The lead attaches to the centre of the harness and does not pull on the neck.

NEVER use choke chains, they can seriously damage the dogs neck
