Visitors Do not ask too many people to come see your puppy until he has settled down
for a few days. Eight week old puppies will play for a little while then have
a sleep. Long periods of rest will help the puppy develop. Do not disturb your
puppy during a nap. Feeding Feed the puppy at regular times with small amounts of food, 4-5 times per day
to start with. The first meal early in the morning and the last meal at bedtime.
Keep to the food provided by the breeder for at least 14 days. Keep and eye on him Observe the puppy closely, regard any deviation from normal as serious in a
young puppy. See a vet immediately as young puppies can deteriorate very
rapidly. Vet Register with your vet within a few days of purchasing you puppy, and make an
appointment for your puppies first vaccination. Most vets will tell you to let
the puppy settle down for a few days before having the first injection. Walking Keep your puppy away from other animals, until at least 14 days after the
final
vaccination. Never take him out for a walk during this period. Worming Make sure you get worming tablets from your vet and follow his instructions
faithfully. Most, if not all young puppies will have
worms, treating them
regular will eradicate them. Bobby and Scamp never have worm problems, they are
now 4 years old 30/03/02 and take a worming tablet every 6 months. They took half a
tablet each to start with when they were young. Ask your vet about Drontel Worming tablets.
