Make sure the harness is designs for car use, Inspect all stitches regular, Inspect all sockets and plugs for ware, make sure they snap tightly and cannot be pulled open. Make sure your car's seat belt is fully operational

Many people are now using the harness to walk the dogs. The lead attaches to the centre of the harness and does not pull on the neck. The harness shown here doubles up as a seat belt harness that attaches to your cars conventional belt.

Dogs are securely held while travelling. If you take your Scotty out in the car you should seriously consider purchasing one of these to hold him in safe. They also have a place the lead can be fixed to and can be used as a normal harness to walk your dog.

Make sure you purchase one in the correct size rage, small, medium or large. Most medium car harnesses will fit your Scotty. They come with several inches of adjustment, you should alter the adjusting straps so that they hug your dog snugly without being too tight.

You car seat belt should be coupled together as normal, and the straps of the harness fitted through the seat belt and a test made to insure that any jerky movements will activate your seat belts inertia lock.
