The identity disc, or tag is available in many shapes and designs. The one shown top left has a removable cover that slips over the name and address inside. This type is made of heavy metal and does click and clang when ever the dog jumps about.

It is best to have your name address or telephone number on these tags, if in the event your dog goes missing anyone finding the dog will be able to contact you quickly. It is also advisable that you have your dog micro chipped in addition to the tag.
Another very popular identification method is the engraved disc. Available from most pet shops, the disc will have the dogs details engraved permanently onto the surface.
These discs come in a variety of colours and shapes, the round silver disc being the most popular.
