The Scottish Terrier
The
Scottish terrier is sometimes confused with the Scotty, although completely
back, and having a much more stockier body, they are sometimes mistaken by
name.
This sturdy little dog has short legs and the way it is groomed makes
them look even shorter. It is a strong, active animal and agile. The coat is
compact, course, and hard as bristles with a soft undercoat that protects it
thoroughly from bad weather.
The Black Scottie
Single white hairs against an otherwise pure black coat is a clear
indication that the dog is naturally black.
Brindle Scottie
This Scottie can have more red shades in the colour variations, or silver.
A Wheaten Scottie
The Wheaten Scottie is NOT a white Scottie, nor is it a Wheaten Terrier.
The Wheaten coat is distinctively different from the Brindle in colour,
but it exhibits the same characteristic of colour variation along each
individual hair strand.
